Max Fried signed with the Yankees and was very good. Carlos Rodón made an All-Star Game appearance. Cam Schlittler debuted and made our mouths water, as far as his future is concerned. Several others chipped in with good performances or good years in a rotation that lost Gerrit Cole before the season ever started.

Detroit's ace Tarik Skubal toed the rubber in game five. He was met with enormous expectations to deliver a masterpiece and make up for a struggling Tigers offense. Skubal dazzled as he threw six innings, allowing two runs on one hit.

Smith is projected to finish the season with 3,998 yards, 20 touchdowns and 31 interceptions. The last player to throw at least 30 interceptions in a season was Jameis Winston, who threw 30 in his final season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019.

Luckily for the No. 16 Mizzou Tigers, however, Auburn (3-3, 0-3) is in a downward spiral. Auburn has yet to win an SEC game this season, losing its first three contests of conference play.
